If I Ever Disappear

If I ever disappear from your life,
I want you to know this…I loved you.
Not perfectly, not flawless, but completely,
with every wild, messy, radiant part of my being.

I had choices, other paths, other people,
but I still chose you.
I showed up, I stayed, I loved,
in my own way, fully, fiercely, truly.

And me leaving… it has nothing to do with you.
It’s my final act of love.
I hope my absence gives you the peace
that my presence sometimes couldn’t.

My love was imperfect, messy, wild,
but it was real,
as real as the ocean I adored, and
as powerful as the mountains I loved.

If you think of me,
I hope you remember the warmth of my smile,
the ridiculous laughter,
the quiet moments where no words were needed.
Because even in silence, I was loving you.

And when the world feels too heavy,
I hope someone holds your heart
the way I always tried to,
with tenderness, with fire, with truth.

I am no longer where I was,
but I am everywhere love still flows.
In the breeze that brushes your cheek,
in the tide that kisses the shore,
in the heart that dances at the rhythm of love.

Even if I left,
my love never really did.
It lingers like a tide that always returns,
like a whisper carried by the wind,
like love itself, endless, eternal, and free.

So, when you miss me,
look to the water.
Look to the mountains.
Look within.
I’ll be there,
not gone, not forgotten,
just changed...
Forever loving you.

I wrote this free-style poem to honor and remember all the loved ones who have walked ahead of us and now dwell beyond our sight. This piece is written from the voice of the absent, a whisper carried on memory’s gentle wind. May the moments we shared with them continue to guide us, helping us learn, grow, and evolve. And may our hearts and minds remain open to the quiet beauty of new possibilities.

  2. That is a very deep and sad thought but at the same time priority. Don’t wanna think about it. I hope this is not something you’re trying to say that is about to happen.
