WALKING AHEAD

I Am Still Here

I can no longer be here, yet I remain within your heart.
I can no longer speak, yet my voice still whispers in your soul.
I can no longer be touched, yet my presence still surrounds you.
I will always be with you, as you will always be with me.

Do not cry for me, but remember me as I truly was.
Remember the laughter, the light, and the quiet tears we shared.
Remember the warmth we brought into each other’s lives.
And if tears must fall, let them fall in gratitude for love that never ends.

To most, I am gone.
To strangers, I never existed.
To friends, I linger only in fading stories.
But to you, I am timeless,
as real as the heartbeat that once echoed beside yours.

As you look ahead, do not be overwhelmed by grief, but be thankful for the time we shared.
As the days pass, do not be anchored by my departure, but move forward with courage.
As life unfolds, do not live in the past, but open your heart to the endless possibilities ahead.
And as my memory slowly fades, do not worry, let my light guide your way.

Thank you for making me part of your journey.
Thank you for walking beside me through laughter and through tears.
Thank you for every shared sunrise and every whispered dream.
And when you look to the horizon, remember this:
Love is not lost, it simply changes form and continues on.

I wrote this free-style poem to honor and remember all the loved ones who have walked ahead of us and now dwell beyond our sight. May the moments we shared with them continue to guide us, helping us learn, grow, and evolve. And may our hearts and minds remain open to the quiet beauty of new possibilities.
