THE POWER OF SILENCE

 Subscribe  Our noise-saturated outer world contrasts sharply with our inner world of silence. We are inundated daily not only by human noise (i.e., conversations, laughter, crying, singing, yelling, etc.) at home, the workplace, and everywhere else; but also, by the constant, relentless, attention-getter technology of today (i.e., phones, tablets, computers, etc. with their rings and notifications) and by the seemingly endless roar of machines, tools, and toys. The problem is that although we are surrounded by it, we don’t really notice it because we have gotten accustomed to it. But when this world feels overwhelming and chaos seems to be getting the best of us, we always have a place of refuge and a powerful antidote, our inner-self and silence. THE NEED TO CONTROL

 Subscribe  It is understandable to have the need for some control over our lives, the feeling or sense that we are in control and that life is going in the right direction, so we can direct our lives in pursuit of our goals and passions. However, when the need for control becomes excessive, it can cause more harm than good wherever applied, whether it is in your relationships, business, career, or your overall sense of wellbeing. But the line between healthy and toxic control is gray and is easily crossed. In fact, most of us have crossed that line one or many times in our lives, and some have stayed in the toxic level, sometimes thinking that they are still exercising a healthy control.
